Maintaining State

I am running wexlite on a windows 2003/IIS6.0 box and the script works great, very solid. All functionality working, no problems. However, when I throw routers, firewalls, switches and a VPN concentrator into the mix, which is the production environment, I'm getting mixed results. Mostly with navigation between folders. For example, I can view several folders deep and click up one level and it will take me back to the root. Then the javascript quits working all together and I have to close the page and reload to get the scripts working again. 

Is this a problem of maintaining state?

Is there any advice you could give on how to go about debugging this? Thanks in advance for your comments.
