no web access - again

I've created a virtual directory in IIS which as to a folder on one of the computers on my network.  When I try to view the page that points to this virtual directory it gives me the error, "Error opening folder "\\computername\foldername".  Please advise how to work around this error as it says in the code that a virtual folder can be used.  Thanks
