Upgrades...

I noticed when doing and upgrade from 2.2 to 2.5 (trial) all the settings are erased after the uninstall.  What is the recomended method for backingup and restoring this information?

Also, do you have a user manual done yet, or setup guide?

Thanks,
Andy

We always mention the upgrade method when we send out the new version notification emails.

The best way to update your current FileVista installation is, replacing all the files with the ones in FileVista folder in the FileVista-vX.X-trial.zip file except these files:

FileVista\App_Data\database\FileVista.mdb - all of your current settings are kept in this database file.
FileVista\App_Data\FileVista.config - contains setup parameters specific to your installation.
(optional) FileVista\Web.config - if you have not modified the default file by hand, you don't need to keep this file.

Keep those files in your current installation folder and do not overwrite them. You will not need to unlock the trial version again as your license key is kept in your current database.
