unable to change folder

i'm unable to change folder, in the sense that i cannot change from root folder to another in order to upload files.
What is the problem?

Does the error occur when you try to change folder or upload file? If it occurs when changing folder, that folder does not have read permission set. In this situation, your root folder have read permission but subfolders do not inherit parent's permissions. Please checkout permissions or if you get any error message, tell me so.

the problem was that i set up a wrong address for the root folder. Now everything is ok. Thanks
