Database file?

What does the database file (either access or SQL) contain?
I am under the impression that it contains user names / passwords.  Further if we tied FileVista with Active Directory (as per the forum topic -> http://www.gleamtech.com/support/forums/showthread.asp?TID=1577) is this database file still needed?

The database contains not only user names / passwords but root folders and permission entries too so yes it's required even if you use AD users.

If you don't need authentication and administration features of FileVista then you should take a look at our control FileVistaControl. This control can be integrated very easily into your existing project independently from authentication and user management.
