Deleting root folders

When I try to delete a root folder, it correctly disappears from the list, but the real folder remain on the hard disk. Why?

A root folder is a reference to a physical folder so deleting it, will not cause deleting of the actual folder. You are just deleting the root folder definition which points to the folder.
