Wish List: Common Download/Zip Processing Folder

We've run into an issue when using active directory logins and securing folders with NTFS permissions.  Users with read only access are not able to download multiple files because they don't have permission to create the temporary ZIP file in the directory.  Even if we gave them write permission we'd have to also give delete permission to in order for FileVista to clear the ZIP after download (otherwise we'd need to clean them up manually).

I'd propose the ability to specify a common ZIP processing folder that we could give everyone the necessary permissions to.

I think we should use a folder under App_Data for temporary file operations. I have noted this.

Are you able to make a quick update/patch for this that you could send us?  This is really the only thing holding us up from widespread deployment.

Hello,
I have the same problem as Chris. Moreover I have a disk space problem too so the ZIP file cannot be created.

I keenly promote a patch release that allow the configuration of a common folder to use as temp zip folder (usage of App_Data could not be the right solution in every case).

Please, can someone at GleamTech reply to this thread?

Many thanks.

Ok, we have considered your suggestion and added this feature in v3.5.

There is now a new setting "TemporaryFolder" in filevista.config with the default value of "~/App_Data/temporary". This overridable setting will control the location of the temporary files that are created during actions like "Download As Zip".

Hi Cem,
many thanks for your answer. I just received the FileVista 3.5 release notification and I'm agreeably surprised to read about this new configuration parameter.

Many thanks for your support.
