Hello,
We are interested in this product. However, we need a mechanism to be notified once a file has been uploaded. Is there a way to add an email notification? Thanks.

FileVista is built on top on our control product (FileVistaControl), and this control actually fires events after file actions such as upload. In FileVista we plug into these events and consume the events as logging the actions to the database. So if you use the control product you can easily send an email notification in the event of an upload by simply attaching to the related event. However, FileVista is an end-user application and not a customizable control so this kind of changes would require source code access.

Thanks for your reply. However, i am still unclear what the solution is... Are you recommending we purchase FileVistaControl or are you saying there isnt an easy solution to accomplish this? Email notification is must so we need to be sure the product we select will provide us this functionality. Thanks.

Hi Hamish,
I mean, email notification feature is possible with both products. However you need the source code license with FileVista to do these kind of changes whereas with FileVistaControl you only need the developer license as you can plug into the control's events without the need for source code.
I recommend you FileVista source code license as I guess you are also interested in administration features of this product which do not exist in the control product.
