We recently purchased Filevista and we are trying to configure it such that users are not able to delete or edit specific file types such as xml and config files. I have restricted the file types within the root folder configuration however this seems to only restrict the upload functionality. Can anyone assist in this ?

As of v3.5, file type setting only effects the upload function. However, we plan to make this setting also effect the listing of a folder. This way, certain file types can be filtered so I guess this will be a better solution for your requirement.

Along these lines, we do not want to show hidden system files. Is there a way to have the application avoid showing hidden files to users? They cannot see them on the server but can see them in File Vista. Thank you.

FYI, v3.6 includes these features:
- Added: Hidden and system files/folders are filtered by default.
- Added: A root folder's "allowed file types" setting will now restrict all file actions (List, Delete, Rename, Copy, Move, Extract, Compress and Download) and not only Upload action. This means only allowed file types will be visible and manageable in the file listing.
