Hi
I'm using FileVista and it's great! One thing I'd love it to do is incorporate access based enumeration (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/abe.mspx) - I'm using FV to grant users access to their home drives, but can't use it to grant access to the main share as they'll be able to see every folder within it, whether they have read access or not. Something like this would make it an even more powerful tool.
Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,
You can restrict access to subfolders with FileVista permissions but you can not filter the subfolders as of current version.
I have added this request to our to-do list.

Thanks Cem. Would be useful, as I say. Nice new website, by the way!

Hello Cem
Just wondered if there was any update on this feature at all? My users love FV - we use it for their home drives, but they have to use a VPN to map their home PCs to the departmental shares, as the permissions are all a little more complicated. WOuld love to move everything onto FV if it this feature was to be on the horizon.
Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,
Note that you can already define separate permissions for a root folder and its subfolders since v3.5. So you can start with the most restrictive permissions on the root level and then increase permissions on the subfolders for each user separately. The names of the subfolders that the user can not access, will be still visible but the contents will be hidden.
