Still havent figured this whole group manager out.
Saw someone put a reply up on my last post, but it is now deleted. I tried their suggestion but wouldnt work for me.
Basically I want to give a client a "Group Manager" username so they can do all of the admin themselves. Add directories and most of all create users and decide what access they have to which folders.
Anyone have luck with this?????
I have tried several times and the users I create under "Group Manger" will have a all or nothing view of the entire folder, it seems like the privledges are not working.
Anyone????
Cem, can you chime in????

When a group manager logs in, he will see the administation button on the toolbar just like the Administrator. This administation page will show all the groups that he is the manager of. He can add/edit users and folders on this interface.

Yes, I can see this and I am able to add users. However whatever combination I try. The user I create will have access to all folders under the root. I have toggled them all off to Inherit From Prev Folder. But when I log in I the see all folders. I am guessing it has to do with when I create them they are member of the group and the group has full access?? I would like to have a group manager be able to add users and restrict/list access to some folders.
I have worked out a few kinks and works great. Just would like to nail down this!!!!

Yes, indeed the group users will inherit group permissions on the root.
That's why you should override the permissions by adding the users to the root level and removing all permissions except Traverse permission. Traverse permission is required so that the users can at least navigate to their subfolders.

Ideally, i would like to have a sub-admin to be able to create groups as well (for new folders he is able to create).

Same here. I would like to be able to create a group manager that has the ability to create users and assign those users to folders only within the group managers root folder. As it is now, a group manager can create users but he cannot restrict the users access to specific folders.
