Email notifications for usergroups

Does that work? I have found that when I add a group ind my default root folder and set notifications for that group I don't receive anything. It works with a single user though.
Is this intended, just not planned or am I missing something?

The notification system will not send unnessary emails like own events.
It will also figure out memberships and inheritance (just like permissions).
For instance:

You set GroupA to receive notification on Upload event and set UserA which is a member of GroupA not to receive notification on Upload event. UserA will not receive notification on Upload event even his group has the notification enabled. Notifications works like permissions so disabled notifications take precedence just like deny permissions.
