.vdb4 Viewer

Does anybody know what tool can be used to view the .vdb4 database?

VistaDB has a database tool which you can use to view/edit/repair database files but it comes with the development package. You can download the trial version from VistaDb and maybe use it without purchasing a development license.

Actually, we are considering to drop VistaDB in next versions because we will use the recently released MS SQL CE 4.0 which is much more reliable and compatible.

Hello! I'm part of the VistaDB team and wanted to say that we are very committed to supporting and improving it.  Please let us know of any issues you have with reliability and compatibility by emaling us at support@gibraltarsoftware.com.

VistaDB has many advantages over SQL CE including stored procedures support for both x86 and x64 from a single assembly.  We will continue to advance VistaDB to further increase its performance, scalability and compatibility with SQL Server.

You can read more details about our advantages over SQL CE on our web site.  We will be updating this page soon to add additional details on our advantages over SQL CE 4.0.

Also, regarding pricing, please note that we have steeply discounted pricing for individuals and small companies.
