2 GB maximum upload - Alert the User?

Is there any way to alert the user that they file they chose exceeds 2 GB?  Right now what is happening is that the flash uploader begins uploading and after a minute or so it alerts flash error #2038.  It would be great if the user could be alerted immediately if they choose a file to upload that exceeds whatever the value in the web.config states as the maximum size.
