Setting the Selected/Current Folder with js

I am building a little file name search utility.  The search will occur in a jquery/Colorbox popup.  When I display the search results I would like the click event to close the popup and select the correct folder in the treeview.

I have tried setting the CurrentFolder folder property and it does get set but it does not change the selected folder in the treeview.
Any help would be great.
