IIS 6.0 problems part 2

In addition to my previous post, I would like to caution those who are using IIS 6.0 to STOP IIS BEFORE editing the metabase.xml file. I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard Ed. and IIS crashed as a result of editing the file while the service was still running (this error was unrecoverable and left me with no choice but to reload IIS). My IIS crashed even when i stopped the IIS service, we gotta find a way around this problem. 

If you are using IIS 6.0 you must check the box to enable direct Metabase edit on the Internet Information Services tab. In addition you should use Notepad to edit the Metabase file.
