I'm using WebExplorer Free and think it's great. I'd be willing to pay for an upgrade IF the script enabled file check-in/Check-out, much like Visual Source Safe.
Is this option available in any way?
Thanks,
Marjorie

Hi Marjorie,
This feature is considered and will be available for Server version only because I think it's more required for a multi-user system.
I can notify you when it's ready.

Yes, please do.
Do you have a guess as to when?
A month, 6 months, a year?

I guess it will be available in 2 months at the latest.

Another question about the check-in/check-out features of the Server.
I tried the Server demo. Will users be able to see WHO has a file checked out?
I'm a former Visual Source Safe user and I'm very interested.
If 2 months is realistic...I might be able to wait for it.

Users will be able to see the status of files in the listing, i.e. which are checked in or not at that time.
Actually, I am thinking on it and I would like to hear your suggestions.

It would be sufficient to see that a file is currently locked and not editable. BUT...quite often people forget to check their files in. That's when it's nice to know WHO has a file checked out so you can contact them and ask them to check that file back in. So...knowing WHO has a file is handy. Remember to keep your check-in/check-out process/interface very simple. VSS is way too complicated for most business workgroup users. Look at Dreamweaver's check-in/check-out process. Simple. If you have something sooner than 2 months, I'd love to test it. M
