Some shared hosts like GoDaddy does not allow applications to be run on high trust level, this is why you are getting the error (SecurityException). Please see the previous topic on this issue:
ASP 2.0 trust levelWe are working on making the application be able to run on medium-trust level.

Any update on making the application be able to run on medium-trust level? Unfortunately, I purchased the product and have GoDaddy as my hosting provider but didn't see the issues with GoDaddy and the trust level until after I started to install the product. So right now I am unable to get it to function and I am out $99!

Upload module of FileVista can not work in medium-trust. Any other ASP.NET upload module depends on Reflection permission which is not available in medium-trust. This is the biggest limitation that prevents us to make the product medium-trust compatible. However we may release a compatible version in the future by sacrificing some features.
Note that there are a lot of shared ASP.NET hosts that provide Full-Trust with a good price just like GoDaddy. Most ASP.NET products from other software vendors also have the same problem on GoDaddy due to this trust issue.
If changing hosts is not an option for you, we will refund you. I have sent more information via email.

I really like the FileVista product, but unfortunately we just paid for another year at GoDaddy (banging my head on the wall for that now!).
Before I look for a refund, I am curious what type of functionality would have to be sacrificed to get FileVista to work under medium trust? Right now, we're using your WebExplorer Lite product and it's been a good standby for years. To get FileVista to work at medium trust, are we essentially going all the way back to WebExplorer Lite's functionality?
Is it a lot of development time to get FileVista to work under medium trust? I'd be happy to test it for you on my GoDaddy account. That might be a good marketing advantage for you to sell a full trust and a "GoDaddy Compatible" version as a lot of GoDaddy clients like myself (and others on this forum) do not like the slow file system they provide and look for products like WebExplorer Lite, FileVista, etc. You might find yourself with more customers.

Hi Joe,
We will need to disable upload with progress bar feature and some minor features like file types that are retrieved from the system registry. We received similar feedback from other customers so we will work on a medium-trust compatible version. I will let you know.

I see that a new update is available for FileVista but there is no mention of providing a version that does not require full trust. Is that update coming soon? Can an approximate date be provided for its release?

This is a complex feature and we are working on it.
It may be available in the next version which should be released in few months.
