Right click not working in Firefox Mac

Right clicking using Firefox 3 on the Mac doesn't seem to have any effect. This is a big problem as some of the functionality in that menu isn't duplicated anywhere else.

Did you try CTRL + click or  unchecking "Disable or replace context menus." at Tools->Options->Content-Advanced?
Cem Alacayir 11/18/2008 1:05 PM
Control-click does work to produce the menu. It doesn't work perfectly though, as FileVistaControl sees control-click as "select multiple items" as it would be on a PC. So in the process of control-clicking to download you often end up selecting or de-selecting something unintentionally. It's difficult to select multiple items and then control click to download.

Control-click to select multiple items wouldn't normally work on a Mac (command-click does that on a Mac).

Unchecking "Disable or replace context menus" didn't have any effect.

Ok, I will let you know if we find a workaround for this.

Hello..Any update on this issue..I am having same issue..

Any solution will be appreciated

I've been having the same problem and just solved it.  I had an extension ("snap links plus") which I believe was hijacking my right-click event.  I removed the ext and my context menu works again.

I suspect that any add-on that let's you choose right-clicking to do something specific may have a similar effect.

Hope this helps.

I don't have any extensions at all in Firefox. I have never seen right clicking in FileVista Control work correctly in Firefox on a Mac, which is what this thread pertains to. Are you using a Mac?
Richard 7/26/2009 12:49 PM
Yes, I'm using a Mac, but I'm not using FileVista.  Sorry for the confusion ... I thought it might be a lead for you to go on.

Hi Richard,
We have an update for this issue. I am not sure if it will fix right click issue in Firefox Mac but at least CTRL + click will now open the context menu without modifying the selection. Command + click will now allow you to modify the selection which is the default Mac behaviour.

I have sent you an updated file, please let me know the result.

FYI, this fix is now included in v1.9:

- Fixed: Right-clicking (or CTRL + click) now opens the context menu in Firefox Mac. On Mac, Command + click will now allow multiple selection instead of CTRL + click as on Windows.

Does anyone know how to right click bookmarks in Firefox on a Mac?  I'm trying to delete some of my bookmarks, but can't, due to no right click.  Holding down the control button and clicking on the bookmark does not work - it only accesses the bookmark web address.  In Safari, holding down the control button does work, but I need a solution for Firefox.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm having same issue as mike on my Mac.  I've disabled all add-ons and still no luck.  Any other suggestions? I'm using Firefox 3.6.10.  Right click or CTRL + click does not work either.

Same problem here. Mac OS X 10.6.4 with Firefox 3.6.12.

CTRL+Click works fine but two finger tap on trackpad won't work. With or without any plugins, extensions and even safe-mode result is same. Any ideas?

Hi Cem,

Could you let me know if this fix can be provided to the v4.0 of FileVista?

Thanks,
Sanchi

Unfortunately we only release fixes for the latest version, I recommend you to update your installation to v4.1 if you can use ASP.NET 4.0 on your server.
