Hi
I have updated the utility.js with the fix1 thats discussed earlier in this forum. Didn't make any difference, still get the errors.

usually I am using Mozilla, but I have checked the FileVista in the following browsers once the latest ver was released:

MSIE 8, MSIE 6, Mozilla 3.6.2 and Mozilla 3.5, Google Chrome 4.1 and everything is working just fine....
I tried the "properties" in the MSIE 8 and it`s working fine for me...

Please try to do following:

open MSIE, locate and expand the tab "Safety" than point to "Delete browsing history" and check ALL options and click DELETE, than restart the MSIE and open FileVista again and test it...

hope this helps, if not try to reinstall or repair the MSIE....

Best regards
Amel

Amel is right, your problem should be about JS caching. Please force refreshing your browser cache (CTRL + F5) on all the pages; login page, folder browsing page and administration page. Let me know if the problem does not disappear.

Your problem seems similar to this one:
after update 3.8 no more popup create user

Ok, I confirm the problem occurs in IE8 Compatibility View (IE 7 mode).
I will let you know about the fix soon.

Please replace FileVista\scripts\administration.js and FileVista\FileVistaControl\scripts\library\utility.js files with the ones from this package:
Fix 2 for FileVista v3.8

This is a cumulative fix, ie. includes IE8 Compatibility View and Firefox context menu fixes.

Thanks Cem
The fix fixed it.
I should also add that the same symptoms were experienced with IE 7 on the server hosting FileVista.
