Never Logs on

After having this solution installed for many months, years in some cases, I have just started to experience a problem with people logging in through the standard login page.

The user types in their username and password but WebExplorer never logs them in.  It just sits on the login page indefinately.  I have not changed any IIS settings for this site and in fact experience the same behaviour on other sites which have separate licensed copies of the software installed.

The only thing that I think it could be is an incompaitibilty to a MS patch that was applied to the W2K server (It's running SP3 and up to date on all subsequent patches).
